Hiking
Hikers enjoy everything from day hikes to
the South Fork Cave (Spring Cave
) to multi-day excursions in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area.
Spring Cave excursion
If, instead of turning up the last 2 miles of
steep, winding road to the cabin, you decided to keep going toward
South Fork, you'll arrive at the camp ground after about 10
miles. There's plenty of parking and facilities available.
The trail that leads to the point shown in the picture will
take another 30-45 minutes of hiking through forest and up a
moderately steep valley wall. Just a few more minutes and
you'll arrive at Spring
Cave.

Snowmobiling
Winter maintenance of County Road 17 ends about 50 yards from
the end of the driveway. What's that mean to you?
Well, if you're a snowmobiler, it means you're less than a
football field away from literally hundreds of miles of trails
throughout the White River National Forest and along the
Buford/Newcastle road. The
snowmobile
association grooms many of the trails enabling a wonderful
experience for beginners and seasoned riders alike. |
