About the Lodge
Thunderbird Lodge is a family-owned business that has been
operating since January, 2000. We cater to outdoorsmen and
families of
all varieties. We put a lot of effort into and
updating the logs, decks, railings, and rock work around the
cabin and recently completed an overhaul of the windows, doors
and balcony railings. The steel railings are compliments
of Mike Seely and his spectacular welding skills.
Jerry and Mary Ann Seely (at the right cruising one
of the area's many "super-highways") live in Meeker and work hard to keep
everything clean, green and in good repair. They are the parents and the Meeker
point of contact where you make arrangements for check-in/out
and address questions about the local area or issues with the
facilities. Their Meeker number is (970) 878-4806.
Tony and Carey Seely are the son and daughter-in-law who
live in Germany. Since "Mom & Dad" do most of the
maintenance and upkeep, Tony & Carey try to do their share by taking care of the
reservations,
bookkeeping, bill paying, advertising and taxes. In this
electronic age we hope it's seamless to our guests and we
welcome any suggestions for improvement if you run into
problems. Call toll free (877)

The Name
Tony
still serves in the Air Force and was fortunate enough to spend a
tour with the Air Force's Air Demonstration Squadron, the
Thunderbirds,
as their right wingman, #3, from 1995-96. His preference
would have been to call the lodge the, "Three's Inn" which was a radio call he often made while flying with the team, but
he was overruled and "Thunderbird
Lodge" became the name that remains today. The red, white and blue theme in the upstairs bedroom was
derived from this association.
Photos
Unless otherwise noted, all photos in this web
site are taken by Tony, Jerry or, most recently, daughter
Hadleigh (hummingbirds and sunsets). We hope you enjoy
them and would love to add any photos you feel capture the
essence of the area and your experience.
